Lee Association Locations

李氏公所

On June 25, 1955 Toronto Lee Association moved to the Dundas location

The progress is slow, even seem to be at a stand still at times. But we now have locations of Lee Association in the following countries:

  • Burma 緬甸
  • Canada 加拿大
  • India 印度
  • Indonesia 印尼
  • Japan 日本
  • Malaysia 馬來西亞
  • Mauritius
  • Mexico 墨西哥
  • Philippines 菲律賓
  • Singapore 新加坡
  • Taiwan 臺灣
  • Thailand 泰國
  • United States of America 美國

Yes, still a long way to go but a start at the right direction. We hope our visitors would help us in reaching our goal of a world-wide listing of Lee Associations by emailing the address and phone number of the association in their own city. Our thanks in advance.

Kudos to Jack Lee, Chune Lee, Lawrence Jeung and Bernard Li for the information on this page. Also our thanks to Erwin Li for providing the Teochew Lee Clan in Singapore’s url. Please note the Teochew Lee Clan page will open in a secondary window of its own. Our heartful thanks to Pi Lee for providing the address and contact information for the Lee Association in Penang, Malaysia.

    Dear Lee Association,
I am writing on behalf of my friend, Marc Lee, who is looking for relatives of his Father Bong Lee, who as per her mother Carmelita Salvoro, is now deceased and died of a heart attack.
Carmelita and Bong after bearing Marc, my friend, drifted apart. Bong with Marc being his first born son, tried to take him from Carmelita but Carmelita hid him. Carmelita does not devulge any kind of information regarding Bong to Marc so Marc is pretty much on his own searching for his Father. He actually does not know if his Father’s death is indeed true.
Bong Lee has roots in Pampanga, Dipolog, and Bacolod. Marc recalls that when he was 8 years old, he was brought to meet his Chinese Lolo and Lola somewhere in Pampanga. The caretaker of the Lee home in Pampanga even mentioned that the Lee’s were owners of a mall in Mindanao Philippines and that most of them were moving back already to China.
Marc has already graduated and is now working at a prestigious real estate firm as an Engineer. He is already pretty much stable on his own and he just wishes to find his relatives for his own self fulfillment. I wrote this letter here in the hope that God will direct us to someone who can reconnect him to his Lee Family. I believe that nothing is impossible when we keep the faith. I continue to pray for Marc to find his Lee family.
If anyone would have information regarding the above and would like to extend their help in reconnecting Marc and his Lee family, you may contact me, Charmi Santos at 09175628970/7528178. Thank you and God bless you.
P.S. Marc recalls his Father Bong Lee having a birthmark on one side of his face.

Good on you to help your friend in his search. However, there isn’t much to go on other than his father’s name and a few cities. Came across this page that shows the malls in the Philippines when I googled Dipolog:

      http://www.chanrobles.com/philippineshoppingmallsandsupermarkets.htm

      Also Wikipedia

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_shopping_malls_in_the_Philippines

Scroll down the page you’ll see a Lee Plaza Dipolog at Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte. This may be a lead to follow up?

I would suggest contacting the Lee Associations in the three cities that you said Bong Lee has roots in. From what you said the family should be well-know in the local community.

Without any concrete time frame my guess is Marc visited his relatives about 20 years ago. At that time China was just starting to develop and the cities with malls were limited to Southern China, most likely Shenzhen. But it has grown into a mega-city now which may not be of any help to you and Marc.

My guess is there should be a provincial or national vital statistics department where you can look up whether Bong Lee has decreased or not.

I am interested in participating in the Lee Family Association activities. How do I get started?

I would also like to obtain information on my parent’s background in China. Who do I contact regarding this?

    Thanks,

    Judy Lee Young
